Everlasting Spring

He’s the most beautiful flower of them all.

One of my first clean portrait shots of Chris taken on my favorite canon lens. Each edit is unique and illustrates parts of him that I hold close to me.

Rebecca

I wanted to dedicate this post to someone I hold very close to my heart for not only being an extremely courageous, perceptive and loving friend but for also allowing me the time to capture an intimate growth over the span of eight years. Below I pulled a mix of my favorite images of Rebecca ranging from 2010-current day. These are in no particular order but I’m sure you’ll notice a difference in technique when it comes to my earlier stuff.

i am my own best friend

I can’t pass posting a picture with a pure smile

That jacket was my grandmothers and was a favorite to use during shoots

probably the last shoot we will ever do in my garden! this was taken about two months ago & my house goes on the market soon.

With love.

If you only read the label

The use of a mask has to be one of my favorite ancient symbolic disguises. A facial disguise with the power to make the eyes dance with deceit. The result of these images are a true reflection of what Andrew carries with him. It was a project worked on equally between us with such beautiful communication and teamwork that I found myself discovering a new side of him towards the end.

Blue Baby

These images were stowed far away in a tiny folder inside some robot disk thing so I decided to free em, go through my favorite ones and re edit them as I would now.  I believe these are from 2014, all shot behind my house. Enjoy

L'enfer, c'est les autres

Dana embodies a certain darkness that I tend to grasp through his current readings. I was recently made aware of the French existentialism play, No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre. Locked in an empty room, No Exit provides a vast psychological breakdown of three emotionally torn strangers. The conclusion in which Sartre ultimately achieves is that hell is simply other people.

The division of light inspired me to take these and resulted in one of the most honest set of portraits I've taken.

New Nashville

This past week I travelled to Nashville for the first time to participate in Nashville Fashion Week. I work as the official photographer for my friends new and upcoming brand, Andrew Gallivan. While I got some great photographs of the show and models we also took advantage of the days we had off by gathering some of his friends and organizing creative shoots. Here are some images I selected from my first shoot taken on the Pedestrian Bridge and some other locations surrounding it.

All images are taken and edited by me. All clothing is hand made by Andrew Gallivan.

Facing Forward

I originally pulled my out my camera to take a few simple portrait shots of Katya but ended up creating an interesting body of images that stray very far from my ideal vision. Happy with the results.

This shoot was executed using a new sigma lens I recently bought. As i got deeper into editing I discovered a unique color palette that I had never been able to pull out of past images. The lighting in the room was dim and warm. If this hadn't been such an impromptu shoot I would have pulled out more light sources but in this case I'm glad I didn't- I have a feeling that these strange colors surfaced through the lack of proper lighting.
