About Bailee Boyko

“Photography can only represent the present. Once photographed, the subject becomes part of the past.”-Berenice Abbott

I picked up my first camera at the age of eleven with no intention of turning it into anything other than what it was, an enjoyable hobby. I soon after managed to get a hold of my first portable printer. From there I began to create books and as years passed these books began to represent time in its passing. My images became a gateway to my past and forced me to acknowledge the beauty and pain of fleeting memories. I was struck with a moment of clarity where I no longer looked upon photography as a hobby but as a part of who I am and most importantly how I view the world.
